IxD: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?

Students in GDes 5341: Interactive Design spend the entire semester answering this through a project of their own choosing. This personal project affords students the luxury of time: time to explore things they find personally interesting and time to focus on the design process above all else. Weekly process check-ins keep students accountable throughout the duration of the semester, and become a deliverable in their own right. As it turns out, interactive is not merely a medium. It's the world in which we live.

Students say interactive is…

Joél Valdez, Spring 2014

Knowing the tech-connected nature of fashion bloggers and others attending fashion shows, Joél Valdez wanted to craft an experience that could keep audiences engaged before, during, and after the show. He created this prototype of an AR look book for the Align senior fashion show. The video highlights how the app could feature additional portfolio samples for each graduating senior, as well as in-line contact information to tweet, like, or otherwise share the work they are seeing with their social networks. Contacting the designer directly or viewing their website is also possible.
